Step 1: type Disk Cleanup in the start menu search box and then press enter.
Step 2: The drive selection screen will appear, select your device and then press enter.
Step 3: Then a dialogue will appear, select ONLY thumbnail and then click OK to delete the thumbnail cache.
Click yes to any confirmation dialogue and that’s it!

Using Thumbnail Database Cleaner to clear thumbnail files
Step 1: Download Thumbnail Database Cleaner from the link given below.
Step 2: Run the program and install it. Now open the software installed.
Step 3: Now click Start Search button to find all the thumbnail cache files.
Step 4: Select all thumbnails and click clear.

Use Command Prompt to clear thumbnail cache
Step 1: Close all running apps.
Step 2: Right-click on the start button and then run Command prompt.
Step 3: Now type the following and then press enter.
cd /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
Step 4: Type attrib -h thumbcache_*.db and then press Enter key.
Step 5: Now type in “del thumbcache_*.db” and then press enter. The system will delete all the thumbnail cache. Restart your PC once and the process is completed.
