- 2 How to Install GApps with CWM Recovery:
After you install/flash a Custom ROM on your Android Device, you need to download GApps and install them which are default Google Apps like Play Store, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Voice etc. These programs are called GApps, in short for Google Apps.
The reason you have to manually install GApps is that these Apps cannot be included in the Custom ROM Package file because it breaks the licensing restrictions. It is recommended that you install GApps after flashing a Custom ROM because if you don’t, you will not have Google Play Store app, thus you will not be able to install any other application or game directly. However, you can install the apps manually by downloading an APK file. We have listed the GApps below for the respective firmware version of Android. Choose the GApps Package based on the Custom ROM you wish to install. For example, if you are installing a Custom ROM based on Android 6+, then you should download the file listed in that criteria.

How to Install GApps with CWM Recovery:
If you know how to install a custom ROM, then installing GApps package will be like a walk in a park for you. However, if you are not an advanced user or are new to these development tasks, it is recommended that you read and understand the tutorial first and then actually perform it carefully!
Step 1: Download the latest GApps package from above, depending on which Android Firmware is your Custom ROM based on.
Step 2: Copy the downloaded zip file to your device’s SD Card Storage.
Step 3: Turn off your device. Boot it into the recovery mode by simultaneously pressing and holding Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button. That works on most of the devices. If you own a Samsung Device, then you just have to press and hold Volume Up and then press and hold Power Button and it’ll take you to CWM Recovery menu.
Step 4: In most devices, the above step will take you to the Bootloader/Fastboot menu as shown in the image below
Step 5: When you’re in Bootloader, press Volume Down button twice and you’ll see Recovery Mode written in Red instead of Start as shown in the picture below
Step 6: Select Recovery Mode option by pressing the Power Button and it will take you to CWM Recovery Menu.
Step 7: Now from Recovery Menu, go to Install zip as shown in the image below.
Note: Use Volume Buttons to scroll up and down, and Power Button to select.
Step 8: After that, select Choose zip from sd card.
Step 9: Now select the GApps zip file that you copied to your device in Step 2 and select it.
Step 10: GApps will now be installed on your device. Once it’s done, select Reboot System Now from the Recovery Menu!
That’s it! Google Apps will now be installed on your Device. Simple, isn’t it?
