Microsoft Edge is the new browser in Windows 10 and is the successor to the famous Internet Explorer. Although the Microsoft Edge does not offer all the features offered by its competitors but the browser is fast and supports extensions as well.
Tab preview feature in Microsoft Edge
With the November Update in Windows 10 Microsoft has introduced tab preview feature for Microsoft Edge. The tab preview feature allows you preview the contents of a tab by just moving the mouse over the tab.
It is a nice enough feature and most users use it very often before switching to a tab. But some users also have their own reasons for not liking and using the tab preview feature in Windows 10.
Disable tab preview feature of Microsoft Edge in Windows 10
Step 1: In the Start menu or taskbar search box, type Regedit and then press Enter key.
Click Yes button when you see the User Account Control dialog.
Step 2: In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\ Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\ AppContainer\Storage\ microsoft.microsoftedge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge \TabbedBrowsing
Step 3: On the right-side, create a new 32-bit DWORD value by right-clicking on the empty area, clicking New, clicking DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it asTabPeekEnabled.
Step 4: Finally, double-click on TabPeekEnabled and set its value to 0 (zero) to turn off Microsoft Edge tab preview in Windows 10.
Close the Registry Editor and restart Microsoft Edge, if it’s running.
NOTE: To enable tab preview again, simply set the value of TabPeekEnabled to 1.
