How to Fix Compressed (Zipped) Folder Missing From Send To Menu

Most users out there use build-in tools to create compressed/zipped files and folders. It is useful for small files and folders and especially if you don’t want to create password protected zip files.

Creating a zip files in and previous versions in quite easy as you just have to right-click on the file, click on Send to option and then clicking Compressed (zipped) folder. This option appears whenever you right-click on a file or folder and then click Send to .

Some users have witnessed that sometimes while creating a zip folder, the Compressed (zipped) folder was missing from the Send to menu on 10.

Following are the methods to restore this option back.

Compressed (zipped) folder option missing from Send to menu in Windows 10/8/7

Method 1 of 2

Step 1: Open Run command box by pressing Windows logo + R keys and type the following and press enter.

%systemdrive%\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

Step 2: Copy Compressed (Zip) folder.

Step 3: Open Run command box again.

Step 4: Type Shell:sendto and then press enter to open the Send to folder.

Step 5: Paste the previously copied folder and that’s it!

Method 2 of 2

Step 1: Download Compressed folder.zip file. Extract the zip file to Compressed (zipped) folder shortcut.

Step 2: Open Run command box and type Shell:sendto and then press enter.

Step 3: Now paste the downloaded Compressed (zipped) folder to Send to folder.

The Compressed (zipped) folder shortcut should now appear in the Send to menu.
