One of the best ways to improve your PC’s startup speed is to stop various programs from running when your system is turned on. Programs like Skype, Evernote TeamViewer start with operating system with default settings.

In Windows 7 an option was present under the System configuration utility to remove or disable startup entries. In Windows 8 and later versions it has been moved under the Task Manager.

Method 1 of 3

Disable startup programs using Task Manager

Step 1: Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

Step 2: Click on more details if Task Manager is launched in minimal view.

Step 3: Click on the startup tab.

Step 4: Now select any entry you don’t want to start during startup, right-click on it and then click disable.

Method 2 of 3

Delete startup programs from Startup folder

Step 1: Open Run command box.

Step 2: Type shell:startup and press enter.

Remove startup programs using CCleaner

Step 1: Download from the following link.

https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Step 2: Launch the app, click Tools and then click Startup.

Step 3: Under the Windows tab select any folder you want to remove and then press disable.
