Whenever you perform a clean install of Windows 10 or upgrade from a previous versions, Windows will try its best that you log in using a Microsoft account. What it does is that it allows you to install different apps using the Microsoft account and use all the features like sync or OneDrive which is not available in the local user account.
Logging in is one thing and signing out another and following are the methods to log out of Microsoft account or local user account in Windows 10.
Sign out of Microsoft account and use local account in Windows 10
If you are using Microsoft account and now wish to log out and switch to local user account following is the procedure.
Step 1: Open settings by clicking it’s icon on the left hand side of the start menu.
Step 2: On the bottom, click Accounts.
Step 3: Click Your info on the left side of the screen to see the Microsoft account you are using to sign into Windows 10. Click the link Sign in with local account instead.
Step 4: This will bring up a screen which will ask you to put in your Microsoft password which you will put in and press enter.
Step 5: Now it will take you to the switch to local account screen. This is where you will enter the username for your account and also enter the password. Click next button.
Step 6: Now you can switch to local user account, save any unsaved work and then press sign out and finish. This will take you to the lock screen.
Now enter your newly created account details and now you will use Windows using local user account instead of Microsoft account.
