There can be many reasons why you would have to log out of Windows store app in Windows 10. You might want to log in using a different account or you just might to sign out because of privacy reasons.
You need to have a Microsoft account to download and install the apps from the official Windows store. Although it’s possible to install apps from the Store without switching your local account to Microsoft account, you need to sign in with a valid Microsoft email address in order to install apps.
Log out of Windows 10 Store
You can log out of the Store even if you’re signing in to Windows 10 using a Microsoft account. This means that, users using both Microsoft account as well as local user account to sign in to Windows 10 can sign out of the Store with ease. This also means that you can use different email addresses to sign in to Windows 10 and Store.
Step 1: Open store app.
Step 2: Once the app is launched, click on the account picture located on the top of the screen. Now click on the Microsoft account name / email address.
Step 3: Now you will see a dialog in which click or tap on the Microsoft account email address you wish to Sign out from.
Step 4: Click or tap on the Sign out link to sign out of the Store app in Windows 10. You can now sign in to Store either using the same email address or a different one.
Note that you don’t need to sign in to the Store app in order to update apps installed from the Store. With default settings, Windows 10 automatically updates all apps shipped with Windows 10 as well as apps installed from the Store. You can also manually update Store apps without having to sign in to the Store app.
