Films and TV also knows as Movies and TV in the previous versions is one of the tens of apps shipped with Windows 10. The basic function of the films and TV app is to rent and buy movies and TV shows from the Windows store but it can also be used to watch local videos.
All TV episodes and movies that you bought from Windows Store appear in Films & TV app. The Films & TV app supports downloading both HD (high definition) and SD (standard definition) quality videos. The movies or TV shows that you bought can be watched on a TV, PC or tablet but when you rent a movie or TV show it can only be watched on the device it was rented for.
Although there are many better apps with wide range to features to play video files in Windows 10, many still might want to use Files and TV app to watch movies and videos saved on your PC.
